Ingredients:
1 bag of Machland red cabbage
butter
1 onion
1 apple
1 tablespoon sugar
100 ml water / brine
cinnamon
Procedure:
Drain the brine from the red cabbage.
Cut the onion into small cubes and fry it in butter in a saucepan.
When the onions turn brown, add the sugar and finely grated apple and let them caramelise. Not much sugar is needed, the cabbage is already sweetened.
Add the cabbage and stir.
Pour in the water (or brine), add a piece of whole cinnamon and let the cabbage simmer for just a moment.
